Guide to baby care

Already in the pregnancy, many parents prepare for the care of the newborn. In former times this was not a question, and us women learned in the family alliance already in the healthy everyday life the small handles and necessities of the baby care. Nowadays, taking over this knowledge from our parents or older siblings is no longer self-evident.
But thanks to the Internet, there are many info pages, guides and videos on the subject. We have collected a great deal of information on baby care and added several helpful videos to our post.
First of all, we answer the question:

what do I need to care for my baby and make me so sweet?

Butt care or cleaning and the needs of your infant

Cloth diapers are usually growing, can be reused, are cheaper but more labour intensive.
Disposable diapers or disposable diapers are available in different sizes, can only be used once. But they are easier to use and save time.
Here, the size and weight of your baby are essential. Usually, this is the size after
birth. For safety, you can also buy size two right now. Since your baby will
grow fast, you will be able to consume it too.

How do you know that your baby's diaper is full?

Most of the time, your baby is noticeable, as a full diaper is uncomfortable. Also, the diaper is then fuller and plumper. For a newborn, you have to expect about ten diaper changes daily. If you have a little dreamer, we will do the diaper change even before a meal, as the children are then usually more awake. Otherwise, a diaper change between a short breastfeeding pause (change of breast) or after breastfeeding done. There is no real rule for it. Every child and every situation is different. If you prefer your baby to sleep a little after eating, a diaper change after eating is more activating and therefore not
beneficial. Just watch your baby and decide what's best for you.

How does it look in the diaper? What is normal?

The first stool of your baby is mostly greenish-black. The so-called Peckinpah is eliminated 12 to 48 hours after birth. Further information can be found here.
Otherwise, the baby's stool is thin, soft and pale yellow. Occasionally, it can be slightly greenish, but that's perfectly normal. If you are uncertain, then always ask your midwife or doctor. Better to ask too much than too little.

What should be at hand on the changing table?

It is essential that you already have everything at hand before you start to angle. The babies are often very restless and could fall off the table without supervision.

Is your child restless while changing?

If your baby is very nervous on the changing table, sometimes a little distraction helps with a mobile, which can then be slightly moved.

Are wet wipes and wipes useful for baby care?

Wet wipes or wipes are not always advisable, as many wipes are provided with ingredients that can trigger allergies. Many midwives already advise against using wet wipes during the birth preparation course. Here we recommend you to inform you in detail which care products are harmless. But it is undoubtedly a relief on the way and also understandable when resorting to this tool. Hottest has reviewed many Sterilizers Vaporizers comparisons of moisturizer brands, and there were too many differences here. If you still want to use wet wipes, then use the wipes without perfume and rather the sensitive wipes. Interestingly, just the cheap brands were among the test winners (Test grade: outstanding): Here are a few examples

The use of powder

The powder is very controversial, and it is generally discouraged. If the baby powder is used, then there is a risk that your baby inhales this. Later, if it can handle better, it may also spill the whole can and inhale much of it.

The right wrapping temperature for your baby

For your baby, it is enjoyable when it is lovely to warm and cuddly at the changing place.
Here, a heat lamp is recommended if the room is little used. Otherwise,
it should be a pleasant 22 degrees room temperature.

The use of a hairdryer for drying

On many pages, you will find this tip. It is for the children partly pleasant and calming, but should always be paid to the heat and what is even more critical: babies like to pee in a big arc. So that no one gets a punch, cover the genital area with a cloth so that nothing happens to both of you.

Wonder butt in the baby - what to do?

Babysitting Baby Care Your baby's skin does not need to be cared for daily with oil or cream. Many skincare products tend to damage the skin and cause skin irritation. Here really should be acted with great care not to burden the still thin skin with additional substances. The baby's skin is more permeable to moisture and unfortunately also to allergens. Only cream your baby if there are roughness, itching and scaling of the surface.
If creaming is necessary, then the skin should be dry before. For wound care, a cream or lotion with marigold calendar, lanolin, pantheon or zinc oxide can be used. It is essential if a sore butt is already there with your baby that it is always dry and as much air as possible can reach the inflamed areas. If necessary, your baby even unclothed in the warm room to rest a bit.
